On January 23, 2022, a PCR call regarding a burglary in a house at Jhareda Village, Delhi was received at police station Delhi Cantt. The complainant stated in his complaint that someone has stolen Rs 25000, a gold necklace, some silver items and two gas cylinders from the house. Accordingly, a case was registered and an investigation was taken up.
Taking note of this, a team of special staff started working on the case. The Special Staff team analysed the CCTV cameras installed near the place of the incident and its vicinity.
“On analysis of the CCTV footage, a boy was found roaming in the night near the place of incident. Thereafter, on the basis of local intelligence, the team successfully identified the boy as Ashish, 24, a resident of Jhareda Village,” Gaurav Sharma, DCP, South-West District, New Delhi, said.
He added, “Accused Ashish was traced and apprehended and during interrogation, he disclosed that he has sold the gold and silver Jewellery and two gas cylinders to one Ironsmith namely Rajbahadur near his vicinity.”
On the instance of accused Ashish, receiver Rambahadur R was also apprehended and from his possession stolen gold necklace, silver jewellery approx. 400 grams and two Indane gas cylinders were recovered.
