Sonali Phogat Case: CBI probe will be conducted in Sonali Phogat case, Home Ministry has approved

CBI inquiry has been approved in the death of Sonali Phogat. The Union Home Ministry has given green signal for the CBI investigation. Today, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had recommended this by writing a letter to the Central Government. BJP leader and social media star Sonali Phogat died in Goa on 23 August. Since then, Sonali's family has been continuously demanding a CBI probe. Sonali Phogat's daughter had also demanded a CBI probe into the murder. This is the reason why the Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the investigation.

The family has welcomed the Centre's decision to conduct a CBI probe into Sonali Phogat's death. Sonali Phogat's brother Rinku Phogat said that our family has been demanding a CBI inquiry in this case since the very beginning. He said the family suspects a "conspiracy" behind Sonali Phogat's death and only a CBI inquiry can reveal the truth. Rinku expressed confidence that the agency will investigate the matter in depth.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said, "The Home Minister has handed over the matter to the CBI after the family's persistent demand. Now the CBI will investigate. Goa Police will hand over its entire investigation to the CBI. Goa Police will extend full cooperation." At the same time, while talking to the media in Goa this morning, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had said that the investigation of Sonali Phogat murder case is going on. Our police is investigating the matter very thoroughly. Goa Police has also got very good signals but keeping in mind the demand of Sonali Phogat's daughter, today we are giving this case to CBI. For this, it was also said to write a letter to the Union Home Ministry.

Significantly, 43-year-old Sonali Phogat, a BJP leader from Haryana's Hisar, died in Goa on August 23 last month, when the police called it a heart attack. After this, the family members accused Sonali's PA Sudhir Sangwan and his friend Sukhwinder, claiming rape and blackmailing in this case and complained to the police, then a murder report was registered.
