Voting for the post of Congress President is going on simultaneously across the country. So far, many veteran leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi, and Ashok Gehlot have voted for the post of president. After voting at the Congress headquarters, Sonia Gandhi said that the wait for the new president was long.

Before voting, Shashi Tharoor did not get polling agents in many states including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Punjab and Haryana. Congress then changed the rules and provided them with polling agents. According to the Congress constitution, only the delegates who cast their votes are the polling agents.
