In such a situation, people were speculating that Ganguly can apply for the post of President in the ICC. However, now a big update has come out in this matter.
After stepping down from the post of BCCI President, Ganguly will contest for the post of President of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). Ganguly's tenure as BCCI President is coming to an end in a few days. Former veteran cricketer Roger Binny's name tops the list for the BCCI President. It is believed that he will be elected unopposed as the BCCI President. A decision on this will be taken in the Annual General Meeting to be held on October 18.

Roger Binny Ganguly may be elected unopposed at the BCCI AGM on October 18. At the same time, Jay Shah will continue to be the secretary of the board. Some other changes are also expected in the BCCI as the top officials are being reshuffled. The current BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal may replace Brijesh Patel as the chairman of the IPL. At the same time, Ashish Sailar can become the new treasurer of BCCI.
