Sameer Wankhede accuses NCB officer Dnyaneshwar Singh of harassment, NCSC will investigate the matter
The NCB had launched a vigilance probe after several loopholes were found in its probe into the alleged narcotics seizure from a cruise ship in Mumbai in October last year. Actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan was arrested in this case, but he got a clean chit later. Wankhede was the Director of NCB Mumbai Zone at the time of the raid on the Goa-bound cruise.
In the harassment case leveled against Deputy Director General (DGG) of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Dnyaneshwar Singh by Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Sameer Wankhede, a turning point has come to the fore. The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) said that it will investigate allegations of harassment leveled by Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Sameer Wankhede on Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Deputy Director General (DDG) Dnyaneshwar Singh. Singh had headed a vigilance probe that found irregularities in a narcotics case allegedly recovered on a cruise in 2021.
The commission, in a statement on Tuesday, said it would investigate the alleged harassment and atrocities committed by Singh. It directed that no further action would be taken in the matter pending the complaint in this regard before the panel having the powers of the Civil Court.
