India captain Rohit Sharma has defended Virat Kohli ahead of the three-match T20 series which is starting from February 16 Wednesday. Virat Kohli is out of form from the past few matches and the media has started questioning if he is in the right frame of mind.
India captain Rohit Sharma has defended Virat Kohli ahead of the three-match T20 series which is starting from February 16 Wednesday. Virat Kohli is out of form from the past few matches and the media has started questioning if he is in the right frame of mind.
India had a wonderful three-match one-day series as it won the series by 3-0 however Kohli’s performance was disappointing. His inconsistent performance has become a cause for concern for some cricket experts and fans, however, Rohit Sharma tried to defend him when asked about it during a press conference before the match.
Sharma requested the media to keep quiet for a while and not unnecessary drag the issue. While answering a question on Virat Kohli’s poor from Sharma said, “If you guys can keep quiet for a while, I think he'll be alright. We don't need to do too much talking from your side, then everything will be taken care of. He is in a great mental space from whatever I see of him. He has been part of this international team for more than a decade.”
Sharma praised Kohli for playing international cricket for so long and said he can handle all situations very well.
Sharma said, “If someone has spent that much time in international cricket, they know how to handle the pressure situations, the environment, everything. It all starts with you guys. If you guys can keep it quiet for a bit, then everything will fall into place.”
