He has now agreed to leave the post of CM. He said on Thursday that holding both the posts will not do justice to the post of the President. Meanwhile, he has also indicated that he does not want his rival, former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot to become the Chief Minister under any circumstances.

Ashok Gehlot's choice for the post of Chief Minister is Assembly Speaker Dr. CP Joshi and Congress State President Govind Singh Dotasara. A member of the Congress Working Committee said that the Gandhi family is in favor of making Pilot the CM. Other senior party leaders also want this, but Gehlot is not ready. His choices for the post of CM are Joshi and Dotasara. However, state in-charge Ajay Maken and other leaders have indicated to some MLAs that Pilot will be the next CM.

According to sources, Ashok Gehlot has told the Gandhi family that the decision about the CM should not be taken keeping the sentiments of the MLAs aside. It should be kept in mind that we should win the next assembly election in Rajasthan, because now Congress is left with this big state. In a conversation with a news channel in Mumbai, on the question of objection to the name of the pilot, Ashok Gehlot said that I do not discuss and do not discuss about anyone's name.
