When day’s play was called off Rahul (batting 57, 9x4) and Rishabh Pant (batting 7) were at the crease. Only 33.4 overs were possible on the day and almost the entire evening session was lost to bad light and rain.
On Thursday, Rahul and Rohit Sharma gave India a solid start but Rohit got out at the stroke of Lunch. He scored 36 in the first wicket partnership of 97 runs. That brings bad luck for India as James Anderson strike twice in two balls to send back Cheteshwar Pujara (04) and captain Virat Kohli (00). Soon after Ajinkya Rahane (05) got run out on a direct Throw from Jonny Bairstow. India slump from 97/0 to 112 for 4, after that Pant and Rahul batted carefully and rain also came to their rescue. James Anderson 15/2 was the most successful bowler, Robinson took one wicket of Rohit Sharma who hit six fours in his short but gutsy innings.
