PSLV-C53 was launched with three foreign satellites from Sriharikota
Having a thermal imaging camera as its instrument, the satellite will assist in the estimation of land surface temperature, water surface temperature of wetlands or lakes, vegetation (crops and forests) and thermal inertia (day and night).
The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on June 30 started the second dedicated commercial mission of its commercial arm NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) - 'PSLV-C53' with three satellites from Singapore. Regarding this launch, the space agency said in a tweet on Wednesday. In this tweet, the agency wrote, 'PSLV-C53 / DS-EO Mission: Countdown for launch to be held on June 30, 2022 at 18:02 IST has started.' PSLV-C53 is the second dedicated commercial mission of NSIL. This is the 55th mission of PSLV.
PSLV also carried two small satellites, including InspireSat-1, a satellite of the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), built in collaboration with the Atmospheric and Space Physics Laboratory at the University of Colorado, Boulder. NTU, Singapore and NCU, Taiwan also contributed in this. At the same time, the second satellite is a Technology Demonstrator Satellite (INS-2TD) of ISRO.
