Property Dealer dies in UP during raid at a Gorakhpur Hotel

A 38 year old property dealer died during a raid by the Uttar Pradesh Police at a hotel in Gorakhpur City. He was a resident of Kanpur and was staying at the Krishna Palace Hotel along with two different people from different cities who were later identified as Harveer Singh and Pradeep Kumar. Harveer Singh told the media that they were in Gorakhpur to meet a common friend. Harveer Singh stated that around five to seven policemen entered their room at around 12:30 am and asked them to disclose their identity. According to him , Gupta asked the policemen why they were being disturbed late at night and the policemen started threatening him .Harveer Singh said that the policemen appeared drunk.
Harveer Singh said that he was slapped by one of the policemen. He said that the cops took him outside. He said Manish was being dragged out of the room by the cops and the blood was all over his face.

The SP of the Gorakhpur district SP Tada stated, that six policemen, including Inspector of the Ramgarhtal Police Station Jagat Narayan Singh have already been suspended. The reports mentioned that these suspensions were made in resonance with the death in the district. The whole incident will be probed by SP North Manoj Kumar Awasti, according to the press release.
