Presidential Election 2022: TRS and AAP skipped Mamata Banerjee's meeting
Mamta Banerjee has called a meeting of opposition parties in Delhi today. In this meeting, the name of the candidate for the post of President will be discussed on behalf of the opposition. Congress and Left parties will also participate in this meeting.
West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, who is mobilizing opposition parties for the presidential election, has suffered a setback. Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and Aam Aadmi Party have walked out of Mamata Banerjee's meeting.
Both the parties will not attend the meeting of opposition parties called by Mamata Banerjee. If the agency is to be believed, the Aam Aadmi Party has decided to consider it after being declared its presidential candidate. Apart from this, there is little hope of Biju Janata Dal attending the meeting.
The presidential election will be held on 18 July. The results of the elections will be declared on July 21. The nomination process for the presidential election begins on Wednesday. PC Modi, Secretary General of Rajya Sabha, has been made the Returning Officer. Officer on Special Duty Mukul Pandey and Joint Secretary in Rajya Sabha Secretariat Surendra Tripathi have been made Assistant Returning Officers.
