Positive story of the day- Daily Wage Labourer makes his way to youtube to earn lakhs
Inspired by the idea of food blogging, he decided to start his blog. The first thing to do however was to borrow 3000 rupees to buy a smartphone.
Hailing from the modest district of Sambalpur in Odhisha, Isak Munda, once a daily wage worker has seen everything in a matter of one year. From distracting himself from hunger to making lakhs as a food blogger on youtuber, the lockdown for him has been a happy adventure.
After there was no work in March 2020, Isak was looking at alternatives to keep his family afloat. Inspired by the idea of food blogging, he decided to start his blog. The first thing to do however, was to borrow 3000 rupees to buy a smartphone. This is how his hit blog "Mr Munda eats" started. He shot a video of himself eating rice with Sambhar(curry) with his hands. The video went viral on social media. Till date, it has gathered half a million views and still counting!
Perhaps the reason behind the success of Isak's blog is its authenticity and uniqueness. Most of his video show local flavors and regional cuisine, simple everyday food and how they eat it.
"I make videos about life in my poor household and village, showing what and how we eat. I am happy my videos are received so well by many." says Isak.
In August 2020, Isak received a payment of 5lakh from Youtube India. Thus, he no longer needs to find work as a daily wage worker and is happy with his new profession.
"I have built a house with the money and bailed out my family from the financial crisis. I have also decided to extend help to needy people as per my capacity.", he said happily in an interview with Odhisha TV.
With new force, positivity and 7 lakh subscribers to his blog, Isak's mission now is not just to earn money from Youtube, but create awareness about his local culture and alleviate the negative influences in his society. His journey, as we know has only started.
