Poland- Deaths in Poland as storm Aurore wreaks havoc
Four people died in Poland while railing disruption in Germany. Weather services have warned of further storms.
On Thursday, Storm ‘Aurore’ swept across parts of northern Europe which left four people dead in Poland and caused substantial damage in Germany, France, the Netherlands, and elsewhere. All four fatalities in Poland were caused in the Lower Silesia region. One person was killed when a van was blown off the road while a builder died after a wall collapsed.
Around 250000 French homes were left without electricity after powerful overnight winds barreled across France, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. The year’s first violent autumn storm hit parts of Germany which caused damage in various states. In the Netherlands, guts ripped tiles off roots and uprooted trees in a residential neighborhood in the southwestern town of Barendrecht, injuring at least four people according to local media.
