PM Narendra Modi launches projects worth Rs 15,233 crore in Andhra Pradesh
The Prime Minister launched Gas Authority of India Limited's (GAIL) Rs 2,650-crore Srikakulam Angul natural gas pipeline project, which will have a production capacity of 66.5 lakh metric standard cubic meters per day (MMSCMD).
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday dedicated ONGC's Rs 2,917 crore 'U-field Onshore Deepwater Block' project in Andhra Pradesh to the nation. It is the deepest gas exploration project with a production capacity of about 30 Lakh Metric Standard Cubic Meter Per Day (MMSCMD). On the second day of his two-day visit to Andhra Pradesh, PM Modi launched nine projects worth Rs 15,233 crore through digital medium from the grounds of Andhra University Engineering College. Andhra Pradesh Governor Vishwabhushan Harichandan, Chief Minister Y. s. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Union Minister for Railways and IT Ashwini Vaishnav, State Ministers, MPs and MLAs attended.
Modi inaugurated the 39 km long Narasanpeta to Pathapatnam section of National Highway-326A built at a cost of Rs 211 crore under the Srikakulam-Gajapati Corridor Project. This project will provide better connectivity to the backward areas of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. Modi laid the foundation stone of the Andhra Pradesh section of the 100-km Raipur-Visakhapatnam Economic Corridor, a 6-laning of NH-130CD, to be built at a cost of Rs 3,778 crore. The Economic Corridor will provide fast access to various industrial areas of Chhattisgarh and Odisha between Visakhapatnam Port and Chennai-Kolkata National Highway.
The Prime Minister launched Gas Authority of India Limited's (GAIL) Rs 2,650-crore Srikakulam Angul natural gas pipeline project, which will have a production capacity of 66.5 lakh metric standard cubic meters per day (MMSCMD). This pipeline of Natural Gas Grid (NGG) will create critical infrastructure for supply of natural gas to households, industries, commercial units and automobile sector in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. The pipeline will supply natural gas to the city gas distribution network in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts of Andhra Pradesh.
