PM Modi in Podcast with Nikhil Kamath: Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath has revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the next guest on his podcast, WTF is with Nikhil Kamath. The announcement has sparked widespread excitement on social media, with listeners eagerly awaiting the episode.
This marked the Prime Minister’s first-ever podcast appearance, where he discussed a wide range of topics, including his childhood, India’s technological advancements, and the intersection of politics and entrepreneurship. The two-hour-long episode offered a glimpse into his personal and professional philosophies.
“This is my first podcast. This world is completely new to me,” PM Modi said at the start of the conversation, setting a candid tone. Kamath, who admitted that Hindi was not his first language, joked about potential language slips. The Prime Minister, with a smile, reassured him, noting that Hindi wasn’t his mother tongue either. “We both will go on like this,” he laughed.

Kamath asked PM Modi about the common belief that politics is a “dirty game.” Sharing his perspective, the Prime Minister said, “If you believed in what you said, we would not be having this conversation.”
PM Modi also reflected on his journey as a leader and admitted to making mistakes. Referring to his early days as Gujarat’s Chief Minister, he recalled, “In one of my speeches, I said I will leave no stone unturned, will do nothing for personal gain, and will make mistakes but never with bad intentions. It’s natural to make mistakes; after all, I am human, not God.”
Recalling his first term as the Indian prime minister in 2014, PM Modi revealed that Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his desire to visit the former’s hometown in Gujarat.
“When I became the PM in 2014, leaders from across the world make courtesy calls… Chinese President Xi also made a courtesy call in which he said that he wants to come to India. I said ‘you are welcome, you must visit. He said I want to visit Gujarat, your village Vadnagar… He said ‘you know why? Me and you share a special bond’… He said Chinese philosopher Hiuen Tsang resided the longest in your village and when he returned to China, he resided in my village,” the prime minister said.
During the two-hour-long podcast, PM Modi said that he was denied an American visa when he was an MLA.

“I was the MLA when the American government refused to give me a visa. As an individual, going to America was not a big thing, I had visited before also; but I felt the disrespect of an elected government and the country, and there was a dilemma in my mind as to what was happening,” he said.
“That day, I held a press conference, where I said that the American government had rejected my visa. I also said that I see an India, where the world will stand in queue for visa, this is my statement in 2005 and today we are standing in 2025. So, I can see that now, the time is of India,” PM Modi added.
When asked about the skills needed to succeed in politics, PM Modi emphasised dedication, teamwork, and a commitment to serving the masses.
“Politics should be driven by a mission, not ambition,” he advised. The Prime Minister tweeted the podcast trailer, saying, “I hope you all enjoy this as much as we enjoyed creating it for you!”
