Passenger killed in Lakhisarai; Internet shutdown for two days in 12 districts including Chhapra, Begusarai
The miscreants created a ruckus in Paliganj, Patna. Two police vehicles were set on fire near the police station. Burned down a government bus. Angry students pelted stones at the police station.
Bihar burnt for the third day against the Agneepath plan in the central army. Protesters created riots in 25 districts including the capital Patna. Arson was done at more than half a dozen stations including Danapur and Lakhisarai stations. 10 trains were set on fire. In view of the increasing protests in the state, late in the evening the government has decided to shut down social networking sites and messaging services for two days in Kaimur, Bhojpur, Aurangabad, Rohtas, Buxar, Nawada, West Champaran, Samastipur, Lakhisarai, Begusarai, Vaishali and Saran has ordered.
Earlier, a 25-year-old passenger was killed during a arson in the Janseva Express in Lakhisarai. Stones were pelted at police everywhere. The police resorted to lathicharge and firing. Many policemen were injured in this. More than 50 protesters have been detained.
In Bettiah, protesters attacked the house of Deputy CM Renu Devi, BJP State President Sanjay Jaiswal. Here the vehicle of BJP MLA Vinay Bihari was pelted with stones. Protesters torched BJP offices in Sasaram and Madhepura. The BJP office in Nawada was burnt a day earlier. Two MLAs were attacked.
Many policemen were injured in this. The police fired two dozen rounds of bullets. Two dozen miscreants were detained by the police.
The agitating students pelted stones at the police in Kharik of Navgachiya, Bhagalpur. Police fired 6 rounds of air. Several police personnel, including the SDPO, were injured in stone pelting.
