Rajya Sabha member and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy on Wednesday claimed that one of his questions was not allowed by the Rajya Sabha Secretariat citing national security. According to him, in this question it was asked whether Chinese soldiers had crossed the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh?
The Rajya Sabha Secretariat said that when a sensitive matter is involved, it takes steps as per the recommendation of the Ministry concerned. The opposition has also been raising the issue since the clash between the armies of the two countries in June last year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said in an all-party meeting last year that no one had entered India or occupied its borders.
Swamy in a tweet said, 'It is not tragic but ridiculous that Rajya Sabha informed me today on my question that this question cannot be allowed in the national interest whether China crossed the LAC?' Rajya Sabha Secretariat "If sensitive matters are involved, the secretariat follows the recommendations of the ministry concerned," a senior CISF official said.
