Over 2,000 kg of crackers seized in Delhi, six arrested

Ahead of Diwali, the police conducted four separate operations in which six people were arrested and over 2,000 kg of firecrackers seized in the national capital. He said that a total of three operations were carried out by police teams from Dwarka, North East and South districts and one more by narcotics squad.
On the other hand, Deputy Commissioner Chandan Chaudhary said that during patrolling in the central market of Madangir at around 4.30 pm on Monday, the police arrested Sanjay Kumar (53) after finding firecrackers in plastic bags. Later, a total of 1,193 kg of crackers were recovered from his shop in Madangir area. Police said a case has been registered against Kumar, a resident of Madangir in Ambedkar Nagar and the firecrackers have been confiscated. He said that the Narcotics Squad of South district raided a shop in the Central Market of Madangir and arrested Sagar, who was found selling firecrackers.

The DCP said that after which he disclosed that he used to buy firecrackers from different states through parcel services and further distributed it to several shops in Delhi-NCR. According to the police, Kapil said that the tempo belonged to his elder brother Vivek and he had picked up these cartoons from Pragati Transport in Burari and was on his way to Shahdara.
