Notorious snatcher carrying button actuated knife arrested by Sarojini Nagar police in South-West Delhi
With no job and any source of income, 26-year-old Vikas Rai alias Munna, who is a resident of Pillanji Village in Sarojini Nagar, resorted to petty crimes. Very soon, he became a notorious snatcher in the area.

But he had his luck run out when the Sarojini Nagar police station arrested him with a button actuated knife which he used to commit the crime.
“A team consisting of Sub-Inspector Jagdish Prasad, Head Constables Bharat and Shri Ram under the close supervision of Inspector Devender Malik, who is Inspector Investigation and SHO PS Sarojini Nagar, has arrested him while trailing him through CCTV footage,” Gaurav Sharma, DCP, South-West District, said.
The team was working on a snatching case registered at police station Sarojini Nagar recently. During a search of the accused, the team identified the accused by using CCTV footage. His search was carried out in the Laxmi Nagar area and nearby locations. At the time of apprehension, one button actuated knife was recovered from his possession. Accordingly, he was arrested in an Arms Act case. The snatched mobile phone was also recovered from his possession.
“During sustained interrogation, the accused person revealed that he is residing in Pillanji village in rented accommodation. He has been residing here for 20 years. He is not educated and doesn't have any source of income. He is also addicted to drugs and to get easy money he started committing the crime,” Sharma said.
Besides the knife, one snatched mobile phone of Vivo make was also recovered from him.
