North East Team of Nand Nagri Police cracks down Bait Crime under Operation Ankush

New Delhi: In a major development, the North East Team of Nand Nagri Police cracked down on organized Crime Under Operation Ankush. The Nand Nagri Police arrested 6 gamblers and recovered cash worth Rupees 6,530, whereas the New Usmanpur Police arrested 8 gamblers and recovered cash worth rupees 5750 and 104 playing cards. The apprehended persons by the Nand Nagri Police have been identified as Krishna (44), Devender (23), Om Prakash (52), Sonu (39), Pawan(32), and Niraj (44).

According to Devesh Kumar Mehla, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police-I, "This has been done in continuation to the previous efforts to curb and control organized crime. On the 4th of March, based on the secret information received by team PS Nand Nagri, a police team comprising SI Sachin Dev, ASI Beer Singh, Const. Ravinder and Const. Sunny under the supervision of SHO/Nand Nagri conducted a raid at E-Block, Nand Nagri Delhi, and apprehended 6 persons. Cash Rs. 6530/- (bait money) & Satta slips were recovered from them. Accordingly, a case vides FIR No. 0346/22 dated 05.04.22 u/s Delhi Public Gambling Act, PS Nand Nagri, Delhi was registered."

On 05.04.22 in the wee hours, on the basis of a tip-off, a team comprising SI Ravi Puniya, Const. Manoj, Const. Krishna and Const. Amit under the supervision of SHO/New Usmanpur raided a house in the area of Gautampuri. During the raid, 08 persons were found in the room who, seeing the police team, tried to destroy the playing card and cash lying on the floor. The police team overpowered all the 08 persons and recovered 104 playing cards and cash worth Rs. 57500/-. Accordingly, a case vides FIR No. 462/22 dated 05.04.22 u/s 12/09/55 Delhi Gambling Act, PS New Usmanpur, Delhi was registered.

The apprehended persons have been identified as Imran Ali (35), Shan Ali (24), MD. Arif (34) years, MD. Adil (28), Yameen (40), Ikhtiyar Hussain (47), Nomaan (27), and Nazakat Ali (46).
