Nitish Kumar sworn in as Bihar Chief Minister for the eighth time, Tejashwi Yadav Touches His Feet
JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar today took oath as Chief Minister of Bihar for an eighth term, merely a day after he shattered the alliance with BJP-led NDA and joined hands with RJD-led Mahagathbandhan.
Bihar: Putting an end to the Political Turmoil in the state of Bihar, Nitish Kumar has taken oath as the Chief Minister of the state for the 8th time. Governor Fagu Chauhan administered the oath of office and secrecy to him on Wednesday. Nitish took oath in the name of God in Hindi, and soon after which Tejashwi Yadav took oath as the Deputy CM. Yadav took blessings by touching the feet of Nitish Kumar on the stage momentarily after his oath-taking ceremony was concluded. In a speech that followed after, Nitish appealed to the opposition to remain united for 2024.
CM Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav held a cabinet meeting at 5 pm. It was decided that a special session of the Legislative Assembly would be called on the 24th and 25th. The new speaker will be elected on the first day. The next day there will be a floor test. No official information has been given about the cabinet expansion yet.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar spoke to the media after taking the oath. Without taking names, he attacked the BJP. Nitish said, 'The ones who come in 2014, will stay in 2024, then will they not? Whether we live or not, they will not be there in 2024. I appeal to the opposition to unite for 2024. On the question of the post of PM, he said that I am not a candidate for this post.
