A few days ago, the Supreme Court had heard the petition of Shiv Sena's Eknath Shinde faction, which had said that it should be considered as the original Shiv Sena and given the party's election symbol. During the hearing, the Supreme Court had asked the Election Commission not to take any decision in a hurry regarding the Eknath Shinde faction. The court had also told the Election Commission that if the Uddhav Thackeray faction sought time to file a reply to the notice sent to Shinde's petition, their request should be considered and reasonable time be considered.
