Naga Chaitanya Criticized for Avoiding Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Name in Statement on Konda Surekha: ‘Kept Saying Spouse’

Naga Chaitanya Konda Surekha controversy: Last week, Telangana minister Konda Surekha revealed that Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya's divorce was part of a political plot. It was after the entire film industry including Samantha and Chaitanya criticized Surekha, that she later took back her statement.

While Surekha got a lot of criticism and fans pointed fingers at Chaitanya because the statement of Naga Chaitanya avoids naming Samantha.

On October 1st, Konda Surekha claimed that her rival KTR had "blackmailed" Samantha into ending her relationship with Chaitanya. Later that night, Samantha told Surekha not to get her involved in political matters.

The following day, Chaitanya also issued a statement but got a negative response from fans, they felt that the statement was too vague.

In the statement issued by Chaitanya, he didn’t even mention Samantha name’s in his statement and merely called her an "earlier spouse” which is an awkward and old-fashioned term.

On X, Samantha's fans commented on Chaitanya's tweet, calling him out. One User wrote, "Kept using the words spouse.. couldn't once take her name."

Another one added, “Man fumbled so bad, can't even name her."

Many other fans complained that Chaitanya spoke up when his family had been dragged into the mud but when Samantha was called a slut after the divorce, he stayed quiet.

One user wrote on X, "'Former spouse,' 'earlier spouse' anything but saying her actual name. Respect so deep that he threw her to the wolves who have shamed her in every possible way.”

Many from the Telugu film industry have criticized Konda Surekha's remarks. Several artists and filmmakers tweeted against her and Chaitanya and his father, Nagarjuna have also filed an FIR against Konda Surekha divorce claims.
