Mumbai Police Visit Comedian Kunal Kamra’s Home Amid Shinde Joke Controversy
Accusations of a very gross kind have been leveled against Kamra for a certain controversial joke allegedly pointing at Maharashtra deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde.
Mumbai Police Visit Comedian Kunal Kamra’s Home: An unusual scenario unfolded on Monday when a North Mumbai Police squad made a trip to Kunal Kamra's place as part of a probe concerning a joke controversial for allegations of targeting a member of Maharashtra's cabinet, namely Eknath Shinde, as reported by ANI.
Some derisive comments made by Kamra during a stand-up performance have drawn legal complaints against him, with the comedian taking a satirical approach to his work.

Since the FIR was registered on March 24 after Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel filed the complaint, the Khar police have issued two summons against Kamra.
Also, in Maharashtra, three other defamation cases have been filed against Kamra and subsequently transferred as the venue for the stand-up show-The Habitat-falls under its jurisdiction.
The Madras high court has granted interim protection from arrest to the Tamil Nadu-based comedian.
Examed March 27, during which the Mumbai police again called the comedian to Khar police station for further questioning concerning the case on March 31, and this was the third summon issued in the matter since Kamra failed to appear before the police in the previous two summons.
On Friday, Kamra secured interim anticipatory bail against several FIRs filed against him from the Madras High Court. Justice Sunder Mohan granted the bail under conditions until April 7.
Kamra had approached the Madras High Court for transit anticipatory bail because many threats had been thrown at him after his recent satirical remarks.

Kamra stirred a row with his 'gaddar' (traitor) joke allegedly aimed at Eknath Shinde, and many party leaders condemned Kamra for his remarks and demanded that Kamra unconditionally apologize to them.
The controversy grew violent when Yuva Sena, the youth wing of Shinde's Shiv Sena, vandalised the Habitat comedy venue where the show was filmed.
The comedian has refused to apologise in the past for his comment, despite having several conflicts with the BJP-led Centre; however, he has stated that he would cooperate with police.
