Mumbai police shocks as it makes hostel girls strip and dance before them, allegedly
According to the report that the victim girls filed in a local NGO, narrating tis horrifying incident, it was also said that the girls who refused to abide by the order of stripping and dancing, were embarrassed, harassed and tortured further by the entrants.
In a shocking incident in Mumbai today, few girls living in a hostel in Jalagaon area, were being forced to strip and dance in front of some people who had entered the premises on the pretext of some probe.
The severity of the incident grims further understanding that a few police personal were also involved in this highly condemnable act. According to the report that the victim girls filed in a local NGO, narrating tis horrifying incident, it was also said that the girls who refused to abide by the order of stripping and dancing, were embarrassed, harassed and tortured further by the entrants.
The incident was reported after Maharashtra BJP MP Shweta Mahale raised her voice against this incident in the Parliament.
After this voice of protest, the Maharashtra government swung into action and formed a four-member high level committee to conduct a probe into the incident.
“They have been asked to submit a report in two days. Action will be taken as per rules after the report is submitted, “the Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said on Wednesday.
The minister made the announcement in the state Assembly after the issue was raised by opposition members.
A BJP leader Sudhir Mungantiwar targeted the Maharashtra government, suggesting it was not serious over the issue as it already has all the information so does it need to create a drama, to which Deshmukh replied that after the police collects the information, stricter action will be taken against the culprits. The statements of the victims have been recorded.”
A video clip supporting the incident has happen, has also surfaced.
The BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis said there is a video clip (of the incident) and it would have been a different case had it been just a news report. The video clip of a girl being forced to dance after stripping her is a serious matter, he said.
This is to be noted that according to National Human Rights Commission guidelines on arrest, As far as practicable, women police officers should be associated where women are arrested, that too, arrest of women between sunset or sunrise should be avoided.
According to S. 51(2) when it is necessary to cause a female to be searched, the search shall be by another female with strict regard to decency. Body searches of females should only be carried out by women and with strict regard to decency.
In this case, no women police was in the company of those alleged outsiders, who came and along with the police who were involved in the alleged crime.
