The last rites of the body of Mulayam Singh Yadav, popularly known as Dhartiputra and Netaji, went with state honors at 3 pm on Tuesday.
Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav merged with Panchtattva on Tuesday. The mortal remains of Mulayam Singh Yadav were lit by his son Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav at the funeral site at Saifai's Mela Ground.
The body of Netaji was taken towards the funeral site by a pandal built at Saifai Mela Ground in Etawah. During this, along with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, big leaders of Samajwadi Party, BJP and Rashtriya Lok Dal were present.

Even though Prime Minister Narendra Modi could not attend the funeral of Mulayam Singh Yadav in Saifai today, a wreath was laid on his behalf on the body of Netaji. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had the last glimpse of the mortal remains of Mulayam Singh Yadav at the fair ground in Saifai. A wreath was also dedicated on his behalf. On behalf of Defense Minister Rajnath, army personnel also placed a wreath on the mortal remains of the former Defense Minister.
Samajwadi Party leaders Manoj Kumar Pandey, Ramgovind Chaudhary, Ambika Chaudhary and Om Prakash Singh also reached for the last glimpse of Netaji. Rajya Sabha member from Rashtriya Lok Dal Jayant Choudhary and Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Yogendra Upadhyay also paid their last respects. Peasant leader Rakesh Tikait and yoga guru Baba Ramdev also paid tribute to Mulayam Singh Yadav.
