The matter of cable bridge collapse in Morbi district of Gujarat has reached the Supreme Court. A petition has been filed in this regard in the top court. The petition has sought an immediate direction to constitute a judicial commission under the supervision of a retired Supreme Court judge to initiate investigation into the matter.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held a review meeting with the officials in Gandhinagar regarding the bridge accident in Morbi. During this meeting, he inquired about the accident and directed to provide full help to the injured. In the meeting, PM Modi also decided to declare state mourning in the state on November 2. He directed that there should be no laxity in the rescue and relief efforts.

Rajkot Range Inspector General of Police Ashok Yadav said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to investigate the accident. He said that two managers, two ticket clerks, two contractors and three security guards of Orewa company have been arrested in the case.
