Melinda French Gates Criticizes Billionaires: Top Billionaires such as Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Donald Trump often complained about their busy work schedules and inadequate sleep. However, Melinda French Gates who is an American philanthropist in an interview called all these ideas as excuses and felt absurd.
During the interview with Vanity Fair, Melinda French Gates talked about the importance of sleep, she added that she at least takes seven to eight hours of sleep every day.
She shares that she feels worried about the bad culture that prioritizes work over proper sleep. She also added that the entrepreneurs who claim that they work day and night are hard to work with and that no one wants to work with them.

Melinda highly disagrees with the idea of getting less sleep and calls it “so dumb.” She stresses the importance of getting seven to eight hours of sleep every day. In the past years, she has met many entrepreneurs who feel proud about getting 3 to 4 hours of sleep which worries her.
She added, “Some of us didn’t want to be around them. Let’s be honest.”
Furthermore, Melinda French Gates who used to be the wife of the billionaire Bill Gates followed this sleep pattern and believed “sleep is laziness.” In 2023, during the Unconfuse Me with Bill Gates podcast, Bill Gates said, “In my 30s and 40s when there’d be a conversation about sleep, it would be like, ‘Oh I only sleep six hours,’ and the other guys, ‘No, I only sleep five, well sometimes I don’t sleep at all,’ and I’d be like, ‘Wow those guys are so good, I have to try harder because sleep is laziness.’ Now what we know is that to maintain brain health, getting good sleep is super important.”
The tech billionaire Elon Musk previously stated that he slept under his desk for a few hours but last year he said that he had changed that sleep pattern and tried to sleep at least for 6 hours each night.
