Many injured in stone pelting after Friday prayers in Kanpur, CM Yogi gave instructions for strict action
On the information of the ruckus, heavy force including DM and Joint Commissioner of Police reached the spot and tried to convince the people while marching on foot.
After the controversial remarks made by BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma on Prophet Mohammad, there was a lot of ruckus after the demonstration on Nai Road after Friday afternoon prayers. Many vehicles were broken by stone pelting but firing was accompanied by bombing. More than half a dozen people were injured in stone pelting.
After the Friday afternoon prayers, a crowd of people started gathering on the new road over the controversial remarks made by BJP's national spokesperson Nupur Sharma on Mohammad Saheb. It is alleged that after the protest, stone pelting started from the side of the particular class, in response, stones were pelted from the other side as well. In which people like Sanjay Shukla, Amar Batham, Ashish, Anil Gaur, Mukesh Dev Gowda Raju Singh etc were injured.
The miscreants also resorted to firing and bombing along with stone pelting. On the information of the ruckus, along with heavy force, DM Neha Sharma, Joint Commissioner of Police Anand Prakash Tiwari along with ACP and PAC committee of many circles reached the spot. During this, he appealed to both the sides to maintain peace and order. In view of the atmosphere, along with deploying heavy forces in the area, LIU has also been asked to remain alert.
