Mamata’s nephew- Abhishek Banerjee appointed as TMC’s national general secretary

In a huge rejig of Trinamool Congress’ organizational structure, MP Abhishek Banerjee has been appointed to the post of national general secretary. Abhishek who is the nephew of West Bengal Chief Minister – Mamata Banerjee quit from his post of TMC’s youth president.
After the TMC chose to enforce the "One Leader, One Post" policy, Abhishek Banerjee resigned as the party's youth president. He stood down as TMC's youth president minutes afterward, and Mamata Banerjee appointed him as the party's national general secretary.
At a virtual meeting of the working committee headed by Mamata Banerjee on Saturday, the decision to elevate Abhishek Banerjee to the crucial TMC position was made. All of the new Assembly's party MLAs were in attendance along with political strategist, Prashant Kishor.

Mamata Banerjee has named actor-turned-politician Sayoni Ghosh as the next TMC Youth president, according to reports. Despite losing her Asansol South seat in the Assembly elections, Sayoni has gained a lot of support from the youth workers of TMC.
Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, another TMC politician, was named All India Women's President. Raj Chakraborty, a filmmaker who won from Barrackpore, was named president of the State Cultural Affairs.
Dola Sen was named the new president of the Indian National Trinamool Trade Union Congress (INTTUC). Ritabrata Banerjee, a former member of the CPM, will now act as the INTTUC state president.
The TMC meeting did not make any decision regarding whether to allow back leaders who had left the party before the Assembly polls and now wish to rejoin.
