Maldivian Minister of State for Environment Ali Solih attacked in Male, radical attacker arrested
Maldivian minister Ali Solih has been attacked in the capital Male. Solih was going on his scooter when a fanatic attacked him with a knife. Solih is the Minister of State for Environment, Climate Change and Technology. He is also the spokesperson for the Jumhoori Party (JP), a coalition partner of President Ibrahim Solih's ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
Maldivian Minister of State for Environment Ali Solih was attacked with a knife by a fanatic. Minister Ali Solih was attacked when he was traveling on his scooter in the capital Male. The attacker came and stood in front of his scooter to attack the minister. In this incident, Minister Ali Solih has suffered injuries on his hand and face. He somehow saved his life by running away. The video of the incident of attack on the minister is also becoming increasingly viral. However, the attacker was arrested soon after the incident.

A man standing at the scene also tried to stop the attacker. Meanwhile, seeing the opportunity, Ali Solih left his scooter and fled on the road. The attacker also stood at the spot and started talking to the people in the local language. As soon as the information about the attack on the minister was received, the Male police immediately became active and arrested the attacker from the spot. The reason for the attack is yet to be ascertained.
According to Maldivian media, the attacker has been sent to 15-day police remand. The attacker is the same who recently disrupted the post-Juma prayer at the King Salman Mosque in Male city. He was produced in Hulhumale magistrate's court on Tuesday, where he was remanded to 15-day police remand. All parties in Maldives strongly condemned this attack.
