The Vice President of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee, Mudit Aggarwal wrote a letter to the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today, demanding that owners right for the local residents of Aruna Nagar (Majnu Ka Tila) resettlement colony and Old Chandrawal Village in Chandani Chowk Assembly apart from permanent houses replacing slums for the poor labourers living at a close proximity.
To assert on the demand, Aggarwal had organised a dharna with the support of local residents to and address the issue, recently.
In an attempt to press the urgency of the issue, he recalled in his letter to the CM, that the UPA government at the Centre and the then Congress government in Delhi had issued a notification for giving ownership rights (freehold) for resettlement colony of Aruna Nagar (Majnu Ka Tila) and other 44 other resettlement colonies. But with Kejriwal forming a government, the matter has been lingering on for nearly seven years.
He demanded the matter to be settled at the earliest for the residents and the slum dwellers to live a peaceful life under his government, and thus, lead by by example.
