The charge sheet was filed by the investigating agency against all the accused including Lalu Yadav in 2001 and the charge was framed in 2005. During the Corona period, there was a delay in getting the decision in this matter.
Lalu Prasad Yadav has earlier been convicted in 4 cases of fodder scam, this was the fifth case in which he has been convicted.
Lalu Prasad Yadav was made an accused in five cases of fodder scam. The verdict has already come in four cases, in which the court had convicted. This case is related to illegal withdrawal of Rs 139.5 crore from Treasury located at Doranda, Ranchi. In this case registered in 1996, 170 people were accused. Out of which 55 have died, while seven were made government witnesses by the CBI and two accused had accepted their guilt even before the court's decision.
