Kolkata Loot Case: Special branch constable of Kolkata Police arrested for looting Rs 1.25 crore.
According to police sources, last month in Moulali, some people looted Rs 1.25 crore from a businessman using police identities. A complaint of robbery was lodged at Taltalla police station. The investigation was handed over to the intelligence department of Kolkata Police.
The Metropolitan Police has arrested a constable of the Special Branch of Kolkata Police in connection with the robbery of Rs 1.25 crore from a businessman in Moulali area. Police arrested Debashish Das from his residence in Bidhannagar on Wednesday. After this he was produced in the court where the accused was sent to police custody till November 7.
According to police sources, last month in Moulali, some people looted Rs 1.25 crore from a businessman using police identities. A complaint of robbery was lodged at Taltalla police station. The investigation was handed over to the intelligence department of Kolkata Police. Clues from CCTV footage led to the arrest of some people who carried out the robbery. After questioning him, the name of Devashish Das came to the fore.
On Wednesday, the police raided his residence in Bidhannagar and nabbed him. After this the police team produced Debashish in the court where the judge sent him on police remand till November 7.
