Kangana flight chaos: DGCA says illegal on-board photography will invite action against the concerned airlines
It says that the flight of the concerned airlines for that particular schedule on that route shall be suspended for a period of two weeks from the next day and “shall be restored only after the airline has taken all the necessary punitive action against those responsible for that violation.”
The aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has passed an order in which it has said that any on-board photography without valid permission will invite action against the concerned airlines.
It says that the flight of the concerned airlines for that particular schedule on that route shall be suspended for a period of two weeks from the next day and “shall be restored only after the airline has taken all the necessary punitive action against those responsible for that violation.”
The order was signed by Sunil Kumar, Deputy Director General, DGCA.
The order has come after the news reports that media personnel mobbed actress Kangana Ranaut on September 9 inside the IndiGo aircraft while trying to interview her.
They didn’t go back to their seats despite repeated instructions and warnings from the pilot and the cabin crew.
Experts say that it violates air safety norms along with social distancing rule enforced by the DGCA.
“In spite of these regulations, it has been noted that at times, the Airlines have filed to follow these stipulations primarily because of lack of diligence on their part,” the order said adding, “Needless to say that such deviations result in compromise in maintaining the highest standards of safety and therefore, is not to be allowed.”
