According to the police, the incident took place at around 2.45 pm. According to reports, this stampede took place outside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple located on Trikuta hills. According to officials, on the occasion of the beginning of the new year, a huge crowd of devotees had come to see the mother. Every year on the occasion of New Year, huge crowd of devotees come to visit Mata Vaishno Devi.
The injured have been admitted to Mata Vaishno Devi Narayan Superspeciality Hospital. According to the report, this incident happened after mutual debate between the two parties, in which 12 people have lost their lives so far.
The administration has also formed a committee to investigate the accident.
