Many questions were raised. Now Gogoi has admitted that he should not have joined the panel hearing the charges against him.

Ranjan Gogoi said on Wednesday, "I should not have been a judge on this bench. It would have been much better if I was not a part of that bench. We all make mistakes, there is no harm in admitting it. ”However, he says that his career was being tarnished for four and a half decades, so he made this mistake.

According to the report of Bar and Bech, Justice Gogoi said these things at the launch of his book 'Justice for Judge'. In fact, in April 2019, some web portals ran news of sexual harassment allegations against Justice Gogoi.

Justice NV Ramana withdrew from the panel following allegations of being close to Justice Gogoi. Later, the woman who made the allegation had said that justice is not expected from the judges included in the panel, Justice Bobde, Justice Malhotra and Justice Banerjee. Therefore, she will no longer appear before the panel. Later this panel cleared Ranjan Gogoi of all charges.
