IPL 2025, LSG vs SRH Live Score: Sunrisers Bowl First as Lucknow Face Elimination Threat

IPL 2025, LSG vs SRH Live Score: SRH won the toss and will bowl first as they take on LSG in their IPL 2025 match today in Lucknow. Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants were the two most feared teams going into the IPL this season on paper but that hasn’t quite translated on the field. Last year’s finalists SRH are already out of the tournament while LSG are one loss away from that fate but they are still alive, just about, so Rishabh Pant’s men will have something to play for as they host the Orange Army today evening.

For LSG’s faint hopes of qualification, they need two things to happen: first, they have to hope Mumbai lose both their games and Punjab beat Delhi next week to create a window for LSG to sneak into 4th place on points. But for that to matter at all, they have to win all 3 of their remaining games.
It’s a big ask for a team that’s out of form and confidence and their star batter Nicholas Pooran has gone quiet after a blazing start and not enough contributions from the others to make up for it. Add to that Mayank Yadav is out injured and it’s not going to be a happy camp in the LSG dressing room tonight.
But they can’t get too low at this stage of the season: the directive will be to go out and play the best cricket, especially for an out of form Rishabh Pant. For his sake and for the sake of the IPL, it’s time for Pant to prove that this tournament has just been a very bad patch, an anomaly in the face of his talent.
LSG will still fancy their chances against a SRH team that has struggled all season, especially with the bowling as they’ve been expensive and leaking runs. This is a bowling attack that Mitch Marsh and Pooran can take advantage of but SRH themselves need a big performance with the bat. Without Travis Head who’s recovering from Covid-19, the firepower is still there but needs to be arranged in a way that can cause the most damage.
It’s about figuring out what went wrong in 2025 and how can it be fixed? And what pieces do they need to look at in the auction? From the dugout and the owner’s box, these will be the questions that will be asked. This is also a battle to salvage some pride and knocking LSG out of the tournament will also help them paper over the cracks of a very mediocre season.
