IPL 2022: Merely 25% of the crowd allowed inside the stadiums in the latest edition of the Indian Premier League
The BCCI has already released the schedule for the upcoming season of the anticipated tournament. The fifteenth edition of the IPL will be heralded as the “Tata IPL 2022”, as the Tata Group is the title sponsor of the tournament.
New Delhi: The organizers of the Indian Premier League have stated that the latest edition of the coveted tournament will only witness 25 percent of the crowd inside the stadiums. IPL 2022, which is all set to start from the upcoming Saturday will start in the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. On the 26th of March, from 7:30 in the evening, the initial match is set to happen between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders.
The BCCI has already released the schedule for the upcoming season of the anticipated tournament. The fifteenth edition of the IPL will be heralded as the “Tata IPL 2022”, as the Tata Group is the title sponsor of the tournament. The first step of the tournament is the auction and release of the players for their place in the respective teams which has already been done.
According to the release from the organizers, “This match will be a momentous occasion as the 15th edition of the IPL will welcome back fans to the stadium after a brief hiatus owing to the pandemic.” The release further added that the matches in this edition of the tournament will be conducted in Navi Mumbai, Mumbai, and Pune with an occupancy of 25%. The current season of the IPL will see two more teams, namely Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans, and on a total, 74 matches will be played.
