IND vs ENG 4th Test Live Day 3: Joe Root is still scoring runs at will. After surpassing the Test runs made by Kallis and Dravid, yesterday morning, Root was now on par with Sangakkara in his centuries in Tests, and later on, overtook Ricky Ponting to become second on the runs table.
By Day 2, when the first session starts, India would be keen to orchestrate a comeback and stop the imminent collaboration of Ollie Pope (20) and Joe Root (11). In line of response to India who placed 358, Pope and Root of the hosting team will bat in the next innings positioned at 225/2. Ben Stokes eight year old five-for on Day 2, became a swing to the English side and it was duly supported by a 166 run opening run partnership between the openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley.
Day 2, bowlers of England completely dominated and bowled better lenghts, found turn on the second delivery and skittled India out of 358, although Rishabh Pant made a valiant 101 runs with a fractured foot. The Indian total was nice when England started batting. However as time passed it started to be tiresome to India.
Indian pacers were not assisted and poor to play with the new ball. They would wander out of rank, and would shoot off loose deliveries, which Duckett and Crawley gobbled off without difficulty. Then Ravindra Jadeja bowled Crawley out on 84 off 113. In the meantime, first-time Anshul Kamboj dismissed Duckett on 94 off 100 balls. Speaking on his knock, Crawley said, “I have high standards for myself, and I work very hard in my game. I always want more for myself, and I've certainly wanted more for myself than I've got in the last year or so. That's just an internal thing. I don't feel that pressure from anyone else.”

“I just feel like I owe it to myself to have a few more good performances. Days like today make the practice and the tougher times worth it a bit more. Obviously, I wanted more runs today, but I feel like I've worked hard and earned those runs,” he added.
In the case of India, Ravindra Jadeja could not follow the Lord and was bowled out at 20 runs off 40 balls. In the mean time Shardul Thakur scored 41 out of 88 balls. Pant who retired injured on Day 1, came back to the batting and scored a brave half-century.
He hammered 54 off 75 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes and shortly after he was dismissed, the game was just dusted off by India. The visitors are not just yet doomed. The loss of the two openers within the last hour was certainly a source of motivation to them. Further, Jadeja is receiving assistance in the pitch. They will seek to separate Pope and Root alliance since otherwise, things may go haywire.
