Two institutions rank in the top 50 rankings, and seven have featured in the top 100 rankings.
IIT Delhi has the highest rank for India with a jump to 44th place from 46th last year.
Institution's employer reputation score was high at 99%. IIT Bombay follows second with employer reputation scoring 99.5% and academic reputation score 96.6%. IIT Delhi ranks at 44th place, while IIT Bombay ranks as the second-best institution in the country with 48th position.
The largest mover in Indian institutions was the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, which moved up 70 places to rank 148

The five Indian institutes that appeared in the list within top 100 include IIT Madras (56), IIT Kharagpur (60), Indian Institute of Science (62), IIT Kanpur (67), and University of Delhi (81)
IIT Guwahati, IIT Roorkee, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Chandigarh University (120), UPES (148), Vellore Institute of Technology are all in the list of top 150 ranking.
The University of Delhi has improved its ranking from 94th to 81 and scored a high of 96.4% in the International Research Network.

The QS World University Rankings 2025 ranked IIT Delhi as the leading institution in the country followed by IIT Bombay, according to this year's QS rankings, India witnessed an impressive upward trend in the rankings of Asia's higher education sector. Two institutions were placed within the top 50 and seven in the top 100 rankings.
IIT Delhi, India sits at the top position, it managed to rise from 46th place last year to take the 44th spot now. Employer reputation achieved a score of 99%. Second position was that of IIT Bombay with an employer reputation score of 99.5% and an academic reputation score of 96.6%. IIT Delhi stands at the 44th rank, whereas IIT Bombay is ranked second best institute in the nation at 48th rank.
The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) was the Indian institution that made the biggest gain, moving up 70 positions to 148th.
Among the top 100 are five institutions: IIT Madras at 56, IIT Kharagpur at 60, Indian Institute of Science at 62, IIT Kanpur at 67, and University of Delhi at 81.

Anna University finally gets a 100 on the Papers Per Faculty indicator, marking one of the high research output indicators.
With a total of around 15 universities having scored above 99% in the staff with PhD indicator, this obviously points to the high standard of education and teaching.
North Eastern Hill University and University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore scored 100 in the faculty-student indicator pointing out top-tier academic and credibility.
