Hyderpora encounter: J&K administration orders magisterial inquiry
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said in a tweet that appropriate action would be taken in a time bound manner after the submission of the report.
The Jammu and Kashmir administration has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the deaths of two civilians, Dr Mudasir Gul and Altaf Bhat, who were killed in an encounter in the Hyderpora area of Srinagar. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said in a tweet that appropriate action would be taken in a time bound manner after the submission of the report.
The encounter took place on Monday, in which four people, including a foreign terrorist, a local terrorist and two people, were killed, police said, adding that two of the four were overground workers of terrorist groups. The families of Altaf Ahmed and Mudassir Gul, who were killed during the encounter, say they had no involvement in terrorism and demanded that the bodies of both be returned to them.
Amir's father Abdul Latif Magre, who is being described as a terrorist, has raised questions on this theory of the police. Abdul Latif works in the Jal Shakti Department and in 2012 he was awarded the Bravery Award by the state government for killing a terrorist.
