The Union Budget will be presented in the Parliament shortly. A few days ahead of that, the government today appointed Dr V Anantha Nageswaran as its Chief Economic Advisor. The CEA is the main architect of the Economic Survey of India, which is released every year, one day prior to the day the Union Budget is presented.

Dr V Anantha has worn many caps in the past and his resume screams nothing but excellence. Not only does he holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad but also has a doctoral degree from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. He has also held the position of the Dean of the IFMR Graduate School of Business in the past.
Apart from being an excellent academician and an impeccable scholar, Dr Nageswaran has co-authored the books, "Economics of Derivatives" and "Derivatives" which have been published by the University of Cambridge. His other works include "Can India Grow" and "The rise of Finance: Causes, Consequences and Cures."
