Heavy Rain alert in Andaman and Nicobar , cyclone 'Asani ' approaching

The administration is on full alert with cyclonic storm 'Asani' expected to reach the coast of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. This includes evacuating people from low-lying areas to safer places. Cyclonic storm 'Asani' is expected to reach the coast of Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Sunday or Monday. According to the Meteorological Department, the low pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea is very likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm around March 21.
