Chief Minister Rao said in the House that 740 students of the state were pursuing medical studies in Ukraine and have now returned from war-torn Ukraine. Along with this, he said that, we will also write a letter to the Center in this matter. Earlier, the National Medical Commission (NMC) had also given great relief to these students. The commission had said that medical students who have completed their degree will get an opportunity to do internship in India. 7.5% seats of internship have also been fixed for students coming from abroad.
There was also a controversy regarding Indian students going abroad to study medicine. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi had said that, "Students who fail in NEET go abroad to study." After which he had come under the target of medical students.
