Government of India again shocked China, blocked 232 mobile apps simultaneously
Along with China, many other foreign organizations were also running the apps. According to the government, these apps have been closed because they were posing a threat to the economic stability of the country. However, the information about which 232 apps have been blocked by the government is yet to be received.
The Government of India has once again blocked 232 mobile apps. Significantly, all these apps were involved in betting, gambling and unauthorized loan service which were being run by foreign entities including Chinese. The Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), Government of India, has issued orders to block these apps following instructions from the Ministry of Home Affairs. The order to block 138 apps involved in wrongdoings like betting, gambling and money laundering was issued on the evening of February 4 itself. But along with this, an order has been issued to block 94 apps engaged in unauthorized loan service.
Along with China, many other foreign organizations were also running the apps. According to the government, these apps have been closed because they were posing a threat to the economic stability of the country. However, the information about which 232 apps have been blocked by the government is yet to be received.
While taking strict action against countries like China, the Government of India is continuously weakening it on every front. Last year, the government blocked 348 mobile apps made by various countries including China. These apps have been found guilty of collecting user information for profiling of citizens and sending it wrongly to foreign countries. Apart from this, the government had blocked 117 Chinese apps in September 2020 citing data security concerns. Let us tell you that the popular PUBG was also included in this list of blocked apps. Apart from this, for security reasons, the government has also blocked popular apps like Camscanner.
