Gold Silver Price Today: Slight increase in gold prices, silver also rose
Analysts said fresh positions by participants led to the rise in gold prices. Globally, gold was trading 0.58 per cent higher at USD 1,830.20 an ounce in New York.
Gold and silver prices continue to fluctuate. In line with improvement in global prices, gold on Thursday rose by Rs 21 to Rs 50,602 per 10 grams in the national capital. During the last trading session, gold had closed at Rs 50,581 per 10 grams. At the same time, silver has also seen a rise on Thursday. Silver rose by Rs 37 to Rs 60,525 per kg from Rs 60,488 per kg in the previous trading session.
In the international market, both gold and silver were trading flat at USD 1,833 an ounce and USD 21.58 an ounce, respectively. HDFC Securities Senior Analyst (Commodities) Tapan Patel said that the spot price of gold was trading at $ 1,833 an ounce in Comex on Thursday. Gold prices remained firm on a weak dollar and fall in US bond yields.
Gold prices on Thursday rose by Rs 160 to Rs 50,598 per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators created fresh positions on firm spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in August traded higher by Rs 160, or 0.32 per cent, at Rs 50,598 per 10 grams, with a business turnover of 12,956 lots.
Silver futures on Thursday fell by Rs 25 to Rs 60,672 per kg. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July ended lower by Rs 25, or 0.04 per cent, at Rs 60,672 per kg, with a business turnover of 12,418 lots. Globally, silver was trading 0.73 per cent higher at USD 21.66 an ounce in New York.
