Top Delhi schools including St Thomas in Dwarka, Vasant Valley in Vasant Kunj, Mother International in Hauz Khas and Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar received bomb threats on July 16, search operations are on. Students have been sent back home and authorities are verifying whether the threats are genuine or not.
A call about the email threatening to blow up St Thomas School in Dwarka was received at 5.26 am, Vasant Valley School in Vasant Kunj at 6.30 am, Mother International in Hauz Khas at 8.12 am and Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar at 8.11 am, the fire services officer said.
The email claimed that explosive devices/substances had been planted on the school campus.
According to Delhi Police, the schools that received the threat mail on Wednesday are St. Thomas School in Dwarka, Vasant Valley School in Vasant Kunj, Mother’s International School in Hauz Khas, Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar and Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Lodi Estate.
St Thomas School received the threat mail twice in two days.
Multiple teams from Delhi Fire Service (DFS), local police, bomb detection and disposal squads were rushed to the sites. Students who reached school were evacuated and sent outside the gates and their families were informed.

In a mail to the parents, the school authorities said, "Due to a potential bomb threat received this morning, and as advised by the police, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya will remain closed today. A Bomb Disposal Squad is conducting a full sanitisation of the premises."
A senior police officer said, "We received alerts early in the morning from schools about the emails. Teams of the bomb detection and disposal squad were sent with special cell officials. We are also looking into the email received. Nothing has been found yet. We ensured all parents and school staff had been alerted."
Teams of Delhi Police, bomb disposal squad, dog squad and cyber experts were rushed to the schools and thorough searches were conducted. Nothing has been found so far, a police official said.
