Former IAS officer Arun Goyal became Election Commissioner
Arun Goyal was about to retire on 31 December 2022, but he tendered his resignation a month earlier i.e. on 18 November. Arun Goyal was on deputation to the Center for several years. He was in a key role in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). His resignation is being discussed a lot in the bureaucracy.
Former IAS official Arun Goyal has been appointed Electoral Commission Electoral Commissioner. This information was provided by the Ministry of Law and Justice. Goyal received the appointment on Saturday. He is a Punjab Cadre Officer from 1985. He will sit on the Electoral Commission along with Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar and Election Commissioner Anoop Chandra Pandey.The government announced Goyal's appointment in a statement. We report that SushilChandra resigned as Chief Election Commissioner in May. In his place, Rajeev Kumar became the new Chief Election Commissioner.
As the Election Commissioner, Arun has got this responsibility at such a time when the Gujarat Legislative Assembly elections are going to be held next month. Let us inform that there is voting in Gujarat on December 1 and December 5 and its results will come on December 8.
