Addressing the students in Varanasi today, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar made a big statement and told how India is now developing rapidly. Foreign Minister Jaishankar said that India is very effective regionally. There was a time when the world used to see India and Pakistan equally. Today no one does, not even Pakistan. We have clearly emerged as the primary force in this region. Talking about the change in old India and new India, the External Affairs Minister said that 10-15 years ago India used to be the back office of the world in terms of IT.
Today Indians are increasingly seen as innovators. The world sees the talent and skill in us and the world is trying to integrate it into their businesses. Today a whole set of institutions, ideas and campaigns are emerging from India. Today there are about 32-34 million people in the world who are either of Indian origin or are Indian and we are playing an increasingly important role in the globalized world. When the world sees the rise of India, the contributions and successes of the Pravasi Bharatiya They are part of India's rise story. So we also have a responsibility, if so many Indians live abroad then it is our duty to take care of it.
